Reveal the timber, not a new surface
Good beam cleaning is about exposing the history already in the timber, not making old oak look artificially new. We work gradually through dark varnish, paint, smoke staining and ingrained dirt so the grain, tool marks and warm variation of the wood remain part of the result.
Every room is different. A cottage ceiling, barn conversion or listed interior can contain soft timber, old repairs and uneven coatings, so we test a discreet area first and agree the finish with you before treating the wider space.
- Low-pressure media selected for the condition of the timber
- Test area agreed before full cleaning begins
- Natural grain retained rather than over-stripped
